Arlington Public Library: The Urban Farmer’s Best Friend

We have long loved the Arlington Public Library for the diverse array of resources they offer, and now there are three great reasons for urban farmers like us to love the library even more:

Garden to Kitchen: Parmesan Oven Fries

This fall I gave my son his first cookbook, and this was one of the first recipes he chose to make -- and we're so glad he did. These crunchy oven fries are simple, healthy, and so delicious that they make you forget you ever ate fries prepared any other way.

What’s Happening in the Garden: Early Winter

It is far too cold and dreary to be doing anything outside this time of year, so I'm taking care of inside stuff. Here are a few things that can be done now in preparation for the coming season:

Book Recommendation: A Time to Plant

A friend who knows of my interest in urban farming recently gave me a great stack of garden & farming books -- I love dear friends who introduce me to new books, and even better when they loan them to me!

Garden to Kitchen: Cranberry Apricot Chutney

I'm making this today to bring to our Thanksgiving gathering. For years we ate cranberry sauce from a can, and then a dear friend introduced me to this recipe, and I've never gone back.

Garden To Kitchen: Caramelized Onion Tart

There are no words to describe the deliciousness of this. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Puff Pastry, for which my better judgement has been temporarily abandoned. We're not perfect. (But this tart is.)
